What this notice covers

This notice covers OpsRung educational pages, command cheatsheets, and downloadable exercises, including the local preview and hosted copies. It applies to this site, not to third-party websites linked from it.

Who operates OpsRung

OpsRung is operated by Jenish Rijal. Contact: info@jenishrijal.com.np.

If you email the operator, your sender address and message are used to respond to your request. Email is not required to browse or practice. Do not include passwords, private keys, or other sensitive credentials.

Information this site uses

No account, name, email address, payment information, or file upload is requested. There are no advertising scripts or embedded third-party media. On the approved public domain, optional Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics. Localhost and preview builds do not load it. Searches, quiz answers, and the access-control demonstration run in the page; OpsRung does not add tracking events containing your answers, search text, exercise files, or completion record.

When you mark a lesson complete or change the project checklist, the site saves the selected item numbers in your browser’s local storage. Choosing Local machine or Docker also saves that preference so later labs show matching instructions. When you mark a practice exercise complete or incomplete, the site saves its exercise ID in this browser. This is a self-reported learning record; the website does not inspect your files, run your commands, or verify your solution. Practice, lesson, and checklist progress are not sent to a server.

Optional Google Analytics

If you accept analytics, Google receives visit and page information, browser/device information, and connection information such as your IP address as part of the request. Analytics identifiers are stored in cookies. OpsRung configures page URLs without query strings or fragments, omits referrers, and disables Google signals and advertising-personalisation features in this tag. Property-level data retention and any enhanced-measurement settings are controlled in Google Analytics. Read Google’s privacy policy.

You can reject analytics without losing access to any material, or withdraw consent through Analytics settings in the footer. Withdrawal stops future collection from this browser; it does not automatically delete information previously sent to Google. Contact info@jenishrijal.com.np about analytics data questions.

Connection information

When you open the localhost preview, your browser requests files from the preview server on your own machine. That local server does not write access logs or keep a visitor database.

When served online, OpsRung uses Sites (OpenAI), using Cloudflare infrastructure. Delivering and protecting the hosted site involves processing connection information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. The application does not keep a visitor database or configure its own access-log retention. Provider-side processing and retention are governed by the hosting service and its policies; browser-local progress is separate from those requests. Storage and retention

Saved progress has no automatic expiry. It remains until you reset it, clear this site’s browser data, or your browser removes it. Files and Docker resources you create while practicing remain on your own computer until you remove them. See the cookie policy for the exact storage entries.

Your controls

You can browse without marking lessons or checklist items. Use Reset progress on the learning path, Reset checklist on the checklist page, or the control below to remove all four records. Browser settings can also block or clear site storage. Reading pages does not require saved progress.

Links and clipboard

External links take you to services with their own privacy practices. Copy buttons write the selected example to your clipboard when you press them; they do not read your existing clipboard or run the command.
